Little Flower Child in the Big City

in the land of milk and honey, concrete buildings and hydrangeas. the hibiscus make me feel like home in this town. i miss my parents and the smell of the sea. the feeling that comes over you after a swim in the ocean, a feeling of being cleansed. i don’t think that this is my permanent home but it was where i needed to return. we all have that feeling, like when you leave a lover without closer… i needed closure from the city, saying goodbye to a former life. i fear the fall and cold to come, it makes me yearn for more warmth, so i sunbathe hoping i am taking in as much as i can. i eat seafood and moscato, all tan, feeling like i am on the beach in this concrete jungle.
